Simonstone Hall Wedding Brochure

Many of the regular readers will already be aware of our history with Simonstone Hall in Hawes North Yorkshire. We were engaged there in 2007, then married in 2009 with several visits between and several visits since including our year anniversary last year. There is no hiding the fact that we love North Yorkshire, especially the Hawes area and we have yet to find anywhere better to stay than Simonstone Hall.

With this in mind it came as a great surprise to see that Simonstone hall have re-vamped their website and even more of a surprise to find that they have redesigned all their brochures and while idly looking through the Wedding Brochure, there we were staring out of the page back at me was Cheryl and I on our wedding day. Then even more surprised when I find another picture of Cheryl and our bridesmaids, and then again when a virtually full page picture us getting covered in confetti!

Seriously Simonstone hall is well worth a look if you are looking for a wedding venue, or simply somewhere to stay. It is set in the stunning scenery of North Yorkshire, views from every window across the rolling hills, sheep grazing in the fields, and Simonstone Hall its self, full of character with staff who wait on you hand and foot. That does not give it justice, the food served on every occasion we have been has been supreme and without fault.

Search Ranking For Simonstone Hall

I have just discovered that this blog is ranking on page one of Google for the search term ‘Simonstone Hall’ I wonder if they will give me any free nights stay for all those referrals!!!

It is not the best search term I rank for but I thought it was fun. I will be working on moving it up those SERPs.

Seriously if you have found this blog with the Simonstone Hall search term it is well worth a stay. We have been many times now and had our wedding there in August 2009. I have yet to find anywhere better.

One Year, Who’d Have Thought It!

Well this weekend saw our one year wedding anniversary. It seems only yesterday when we first met and that was 4 years ago, the memories of the wedding are still fresh.

It has been a busy year what with the planning for the new kitchen extension and other things. Eva is growing up rapidly and taking a great deal of our time, but that is only right.

We went away for the weekend, Nanna and Gramps kindly offered to look after Eva so we could have a weekend to our selves. On Saturday we went to Aysgarth for a walk. We revisited the location of ‘the proposal’ and had a mini bottle of Champaign by the lower falls. After lunch at the cafe we made our way to Simonstone Hall where we got married a year ago.

There have been a lot of changes at Simonstone, the whole place has been decorated and they have created a wine room. They also seem to be specialising in Single Malt Whiskey, and if it were any other weekend I would have sampled as many as I could before i fell over!

We have a beautiful meal, the food at Simonstone was typically stunning. We have never had a bad meal there.

After a walk on Sunday we made our way home and had a meal with Nanna and Gramps.

All in all a great weekend and a great year, we are now looking forward to many more!

Our Wedding

In the continued trend of catching up with the period of no blogging, many of you will already know that on August Bank Holiday Cheryl and Myself were married. It was the perfect day, and all the planning (one of the reasons why I stopped blogging) all paid dividends in the end.

We were got married in a wonderful place called Simonstone Hall in Hawes in North Yorkshire. It was the Hotel I took Cheryl to after proposing to her at Aysgarth falls. We could only have dreamt at that time that two short years later we would be getting married there.

The weekend did not get off to the best start as on the Friday morning James and Lynne (Best man and Bridesmaid) had a burglary, and then on the way up to North Yorkshire the top box on my car opened and scattered clothes over the A1, in the rush to get packed I had forgotten to lock it, however, it was good to get rid of anything that was going to go wrong before the wedding rather than on the day!

We had found two very special cottages for the evening before, one for the Girls and one for the Boys. I am sure the Cheryl will agree that we were both given a special evening, bottles of Champagne and some great food, followed by games and an early night (no really, an early night).

The day its self went perfectly, Cheryl’s drive over buttertubs pass in a vintage Rover went without a hitch, and everyone got there safely, the ceremony was all we wished for and the wedding breakfast food was a delight. A great day was had by all.

Eva was of course the star of the show in her little party dress, she was as good as gold and stole everyone’s hearts.

We have sent out individual thank yous to everyone who was there and made our day so fabulous, but I would like to thank and recommend some of our suppliers who did such a great job for us.

Wedding Venue And Date Has Been Set

We have set the venue and date for our wedding. It will be at Simonstone Hall on the 29th August 2009!
