Me.uk Domain Name Experiment Part 2

I blogged a few weeks ago about an experiment I was running with .me.uk domains to see if they are worth anything or if they are a waste of virtual space. I talked about purchasing walkingboots.me.uk as this had a hive search volume and it was something that I am particularly interested in.

I stuck an affiliate website up on the domain using my Amazon import plug-in, and I have been surprised by the results. Nothing that is going to buy me a Ferrari but still it has now broken even paying for the 2 years registration in the first month of the site being live.

This was my initial aim, if the domain pays for its self then who knows what can happen in the years ahread, if it can pay for its self for the next 10 years then it maybe worth something.

It is too early to tell if this site will rank anywhere in google, but I will keep you posted over the coming months. I am still not going to spend my hard earned cash on me.uk domains, but the initial results of this experiment look promising.
